Jackie Robinson: The Bravest Man in Baseball

This biography helps us to understand the origins of the great baseball legend in kid-friendly terms. Always enjoyable!

If You Traveled West in a Covered Wagon (as well as others from this series)

Wonderfully engaging non-fiction book to learn more about text features and the Westward Expansion time period.

Behind Rebel Lines

Immigrant Kids

The Watsons Go to Birmingham - 1963

This is typically our closer for the school year. We go on a road trip with the Weird Watsons from Flint, Michigan, down to Birmingham, Alabama. It is one wild ride!  ALSO, google 1960's music such as Yakety Yak, Under the Boardwalk, and more!
